Kazuri Beads & Pottery

Watch local women craft hand-painted ceramic beads and jewellery in a fair-trade workshop.

About

Kazuri ("small and beautiful" in Swahili) employs more than 300 single mothers and disadvantaged women. Tour the workshop floor from clay to kiln to painting, then browse the shop for necklaces, mugs and tableware.

History

Founded in 1975 by Lady Susan Wood as a small project employing two women; it grew into one of Kenya's best-known fair-trade businesses.
