About us

A small team that never quite left Nairobi

We started this guide because friends kept asking us the same questions. Where do I eat that is not a tourist trap? Is the Carnivore worth it on a Tuesday? How do I get from the airport without being overcharged?

The answers lived in long WhatsApp messages. Now they live here, and we keep them up to date.

How we work

We go ourselves
Every place on the site has been visited by someone on the team. Usually more than once, usually paying for it.
Ads are labelled
Some venues pay to be featured. When they do, the card says so. It never changes what we write about them.
Corrections are welcome
Hours change, restaurants close, a new café opens on your street. Tell us and we will fix it.
The basics stay free
The map, the events calendar, the 1-day and 3-day routes. Premium routes and the concierge pay for the rest.
