Nairobi Guide Editors · 19 Oct 2026 · 1 min read

Nairobi has a lively evening scene, from rooftop bars to live-music venues and late-night clubs. Dinner usually starts around 8pm, and clubs fill after 11pm.
Where to start
- Westlands has the densest mix of bars, restaurants and clubs.
- Kilimani and Lavington have quieter lounges and neighbourhood restaurants.
- Karen is better for long dinners and live jazz than for late nights.
Staying safe
- Travel door to door by Uber, Bolt or a pre-booked driver. Do not walk between venues after dark.
- Keep your phone out of sight on the street and use mobile money or a card instead of carrying cash.
- Watch your drink, and leave with the people you came with.
